Where's the sun?

Ok, so I told you how much I love the snow right, and I do. But you know what I love even more? Spring!
I have been telling everyone how great the snow is, but to ask me again in February to see if I feel the same way. So now we're closing in on the end of February, and I'm soooo ready to see the sun and some flowers. I remember in Vegas having so many sunny days in a row that when it was overcast and you could smell rain, it was a breath of fresh air and it seemed like you couldn't get enough of it. Now it's the opposite, we've had so many days of overcast gloomy weather, that all I want is to see the sun. Even to be able to take my kids to the park or let them play outside more than 20 minutes.
All I'm saying is SOMEBODY better bless their baby here soon so we can get out of this snow and gloomy overcastness:) for a day or two! (hint, hint Kenton and Jen)
Other than that, life is good. Cheyenne's crawling around now for the most part. It's wonderful. She's so much more content on the floor playing, now that she knows she can go somewhere. Scott just had his first dentist appointment today. He did great! I was worried, he's my child that still throws tantrums at the pediatricians. I would think that the dentist would be scarier than the doctor, but he loved being able to watch cartoons while he got his teeth looked at. Good ol' cartoons. Zach's doin well in school. He told me the other day that he never wants school to end because he gets to see his best buds, Jose and Miguel, everyday. Who cares about the learning right, you get to socialize everyday! So that's about all. Ta, Ta for now.

Chore charts and schedules

Ok, so lately I've been motivated to make schedules and chore charts for my boys. So far it has helped our days run much smoother. I can' t complain when my boys want to do more than their one chore for the day either, it helps me out greatly. The TV is off a LOT more now too:)

They start out the day with their personal chores(make bed, say prayers, shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, hair). Can I just say that egg timers are great! I set it for 10 minutes while Zach showers and he does everything on his own, when the timer goes off, so does the shower. I don't have to stand in there repeating myself a million times, and yes it is a million, have you washed your hair, have you washed your body??? He washes up first and then gets to stand under the water until the timer goes off. Funny how something so simple works so well, works on teeth too.

Then I've scheduled their day out, when they watch tv, when we read books, eat, play games, or do crafts, homework, free time, quiet time, chores...

At 4pm they spin a wheel to see what family chore they get to do. I have listed 6 chores, sweep kitchen floor, vacumn living room, empty garbages, wipe down bathroom counter, unload or load dishwasher, and setting/clearing the table for dinner. Funny how at this age, they enjoy these things.

They earn one star for completing their personal chores and one for their family chore. When they get 10 stars, they get $.50. Is that too much? I might make it a lesser amount, not sure yet.

Anyway, I don't have very many ideas on how to fill Scott's (who's 3) day. There's a lot of free time play. Any ideas? Zach's at school until 11:30 everyday and Scott just started preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30-1:45. Does anyone else use schedules, chore charts, rewards or allowances? If so let me know what's worked for you!
