Memorial Weekend
Zach's always good to give me a good smile. The landscapes were so gorgeous, I was snapping pictures left and right.
Cheyenne had a great time too. She is so cute, personality coming out more and more. I don't think kids really care about the weather, none of the kids ever complained about the cold. Cheyenne loved crawling in the dirt and tasting pine cones, a little dirt never hirt, right?
The next day Ethan's brother, Aaron, came up with his family. We had a great time. (By the way Crystalyn, can I just say thank you. You were a lifesaver when it came to entertaining the kids with fun games and activities. Thanks so much)! The boys enjoyed 4 wheelin with their dads, playing hide and seek throughout the campsite, and playing in their secret sanctum(it was a cool little clearing in the middle of some trees). Here's a few shots captured of the boys...

Tantrums
Ok. Is it just me or do girls just throw more tantrums? I mean Cheyenne's not quite 1 yet, and boy, watch out if she doesn't get her way. I thought this didn't start until 2, are all your girls this way too? I don't remember my boys doing this this early in age, and even still there aren't that many tantrums. I do remember as a little girl throwing my own share, but starting at 11 1/2 months old? It's kind of funny, is that mean?

Beautiful Days
The past few days have been beautiful. We have enjoyed laying on the lawn, eating orange creamsicles, and soaking in the rays of the sun. Zach and Scott have played outside all day, jumping on the trampoline and running through the sprinklers. Cheyenne is not quite sure what to think of the grass, she did venture out to crawl on it yesterday, but not for very long. Trees are blooming and my front walk is now dressed with purple flowers and a blooming maroon bush. Life is good. It is going to be a beautiful summer. Next week we'll be able to start our garden as well, the soil's been prepped for a couple weeks now just waiting for warmer weather.
On another note, yesterday I was awoken by fire engines about 6am. Sirens a blarin', horns a honking. I was thinking to myself, "Really, I mean really, do you have to honk your horn that many times and for that long. As if your sirens weren't loud enough." You see we don't live in a very busy area and that early in the morning things are still pretty quiet. I heard men outside my window, so then I realized that whatever is going on, it must be close. I get up to look out my window and see men hooking up a fire hose across the street. So then I went to my kitchen and there it was, clouds of black smoke what looked like only a few doors down. I went outside and crossed the street to see which house was on fire. 6 doors down, the home was engulfed as well as the motor home in the driveway. Then I felt bad that I was complaining about the sirens and horns, laying in my comfy bed when these poor folks were losing everything. The couple got out fine with their dog, but the house and motor home are a complete loss. So sad. The owners seemed to be up beat about it all on the news. Glad to get out safe and knowing that with insurance they can rebuild. I say, way to have a positive attitude. A good lesson to see so close to home, how quickly we can lose all our material possessions and that our families are the most important thing.
Today it is raining, and as long as it stays rain and doesn't turn to snow, I'm good. Make my lawn greener and help those flowers grow. So today I will be trying to get some things done inside; laundry, the chore charts(yes the schedule I started months ago, the posters are still not done), maybe a run to good ol' Home Depot to get some paint. Our baseboards and trim are in need of some touch up. Anyway, that's what's going on around here. I'll try to walk down the street and get some pictures of the home that burnt down to post later. Have a wonderful day everyone!
