Our week in Elko

Ethan took some young men for their high adventure trip to Lake Powel in mid-June, so we decided to go visit in Elko while he was gone. We had a great time visiting with cousins, Aunts and Uncles. Saturday I left the kids home with my mom and went out to South Fork to spend some time with my brother, Nate, his wife, Dani, and my cousin's son, Randon, on his boat. We had a great time. I tried wake boarding, and can I just say that I got up the first time!! It was awesome. It helps being on a really nice boat with a tower too. I have only tried wake boarding one other time when I was 16. I tried and tried and tried and never got up. So it felt great to get up this time. We all got fried and were very rosy for the next few days. Dixie, my cousin and Randon's mom, said to bring the kids out Monday and we would give them a ride on the tube. So here we are Monday out on the lake.

Here's Scott, Braxton(cousin's son), and Zach getting ready to ride the tube. Scott didn't like it very much once they got going, a little too fast for him, I guess. Zach loved it though and continued to ride with Braxton on their own.

I didn't bring Chey's swimsuit thinking the water is way too cold for her, but while we were stopped chillin' for a while, I let her lay on the back deck and splash in the water. She couldn't get enough, cold water or not. We ended up stripping her down to her diaper and dipping her in. She loved it.

Here is Aunt Dani (my brother's wife) with Cheyenne. Braxton and Zach. Randon.

While we were stopped, I got out on the tube with the kids to float around. Notice I don't have my swimsuit on. I was soo sunburned, that I didn't plan on getting in, but I couldn't stand it so Randon lent me his shirt so Dani and I could take a ride on the tube. We got on so carefully, thinking we could take a ride and not get too wet. Yah, WRONG. Randon had us whipping every which way, flying in the air. It was awesome though and totally worth getting wet.

Here's my cousin, Rich, letting Scott drive the boat to the dock. He was pretty excited as you can tell. Thanks a ton Rich and Dixie and Randon for taking us out on the Lake. It is by far one of my very favorite things to do. We had a blast. Anytime you want to come up to Bear Lake, just let us know. Or any other lake for that matter, there's lots around to choose from. We love you guys!

Tuesday, I left my kids with my mom and drove home to meet up with Ethan after his trip. We then left the next day to Lava Hot Spring for youth conference(a church activity for the youth in our church, ages 14-18). They needed extra leaders, so I volunteered to go with Ethan. We had a great time. The following weekend we went back to Elko to get the kids. Here they are swimming at my mom's. Ethan was going to take them swimming, but the pool was closed for the day. This was the next best thing. Thanks Mom for watching my kids. They had a great time and didn't even care that I was gone. I love you so much!

Baseball Games

This summer Zach played on The Astros T-Ball team. It was pretty low key, no score, no outs... I wish I would've known that I could put him in the age bracket above him with coach pitch. I think it would've been a little more exciting for him. But hey, he made a good friend and it was fun to watch. Ethan also got talked into playing on a city league. He played on some of the same nights as Zach so we didn't get to see all his games but they were fun. Especially because he played with other guys from our ward, so I got to chat with the wives while the kids played. Oh and the view, yep it was gorgeous. Just nice to be out in the summer nights with mountains all around. Good job Zach and Ethan. You both did great and it's been a fun memory of summer.

Memories

Memories Here's a tag! 1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. (leave a memory about any of us)!

Zach and Scott's school year

Here are some school pictures of my boys above. I took pictures of them on their first day and then again at the end of the school year. They are both such smart boys who get along well with their friends. I love seeing them learn new things. Zach is learning how to write and read more all the time. He can really draw some great pictures too. I'm impressed when we have family scripture study and he can read whole verses almost all on his own. Scott now pleasures us with sweet songs he learned at school such as Frere' Jaque and Mr. Golden Sun. I love it. Next year will be different with Zach going to school for a full day. Scott will be going to preschool again, but it will be 3 days a week instead of 2. He only goes for a couple hours, but it will be different only having one child at home during that time. Some bonding time for Chey and myself! It's weird to see my kids getting big and to think I have kids that old! Zach will be 7 in December. Seven is so big! Anyway, it's been a good school year. Good job boys!!!
