The past few months!

To catch up since October!!, I will start with Halloween. We kept it pretty simple this year, re-used costumes, went to the ward trunk or treat, won the best trunk, and got lots of CANDY!

Thanksgiving we went up to Ethan's brother's house (Aaron and Crystalyn's) in Utah. We had a GREAT couple days together. I think that it is the best Thanksgiving Dinner I've ever had. Lots of new recipes were tried and they were fabo! Fresh cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and Lion House rolls, just to name a few. The made from scratch buttermilk waffles were a wonderful way to start the day too! The day after we went up in the mountains to sled while Eric and Aaron picked out a Christmas tree to cut down. Thanks again Aaron and Crystalyn for the fabulous holiday weekend!
Saturday we left to Logan where we shared in the experience of watching our good friends, Kenton and Jen, be sealed to their sweet little family in the Logan Temple. Their three little girls looked beautiful all in white.
What a month of blessings witnessed. We were in Twin Falls, ID with my cousin Joel being sealed to his family earlier in the month and made a trip to Las Vegas a couple weeks later to be with Kenton and Jen as they went through the temple for the first time. Thanks Blake and Lori for the place to stay! It was great seeing you. And thanks Mom, John and Monica for watching the kids too. It was a great month!

Then on to December....My first little nephew on my side of the family was born on the 1st...Payden Lee...He's a beauty and I just can't get enough of him. A few days later Zachary turned 8!!! What a kid I have. He is the best. Very helpful, obedient, kind...I am so grateful he is mine. The following weekend we had his baptism. My cousin Farnes' daughter, Jayden, was also baptized the same night. It was a special night. Lots of family in town, including my Dad. We followed up the baptism with Pizza at Round Table, where we filled the restaurant with family. Thanks again to all our family for being here. I can't believe I have a child this old but at the same time, I have loved it all and love who he is becoming. What a kid! The next weekend (I know we were busy) we went back to Utah. Little Payden was blessed and it was a beautiful day as well.

Christmas was spent at home. It was wonderful too. We did the Wii thing this year. While the boys enjoyed their remote control 4-wheelers outside and Cheyenne enjoyed her princess jewelry and lip gloss, Ethan and I played around with the Wii Fit...so fun. Oh and Hailey enjoyed watching and napping;)

Aunt Monica has turned her into a little Diva!

Hailey, not quite sure what's going on.

Our attempt at getting a family shot.

This one is a little better. Did I mention how much I love these little ones...HMMM!

I then turned one year older....next year is the big 30! Yikes...where have the twenties gone...I should still be 19..right Terah? For New Year's Eve we went to some friends' for a night of games and food...good times. Good Year End!

Now we are finishing up January. Somewhere in the last few weeks/month, the following has occurred as well:

  • Scott lost his first two bottom teeth! He even tried pulling them himself, but then Dad ended up finishing the job! (Lost both on the same night)
  • Zach started Scouts...and loves it! His first Pinewood Derby is this Saturday..pictures to come in the future..I promise.
  • Cheyenne is still just cute as ever. Makes me laugh every day..she's a mini me..I don't know if that's a good thing or not:)
  • Hailey is rolling all over the floor, even beginning to crawl. Pushing on her feet and moving forward on her elbows...won't be long before she's all over. (My earliest crawler)
  • Hailey busts her first two bottom teeth through. One day apart.
  • Hailey gets glasses...she is such a cutie with them. She does well at keeping them on but when she gets tired or bored on the floor, she will grab them and try to use them as a chew toy (Got to keep an eye on that girl). One year warranty on scratches...HA...they got little nicks and scratches within the first day....darn those new little teeth;)

I love this man!

I got a new camera too!!! Yeah!!!! And a new cookbook! It has saved dinner at our house...and I must brag that I have made some mean dinners lately. Thanks again Crystalyn! The Food Nanny is the BEST...I suggest all to find a copy of their own.

That about wraps it up! I'm sure I forgot a few things.

Oh! Ethan and I celebrated our BIG 1.0. Anniversary. We celebrated with a nice night out to dinner...reminiscing the wonderful past 10 years...Thanks again for watching the kids Tyler and Amber! I love you Ethan! It has been a great time and I look forward to 100 more!!!

Homemade cinnamon rolls, the first of many recipes tried from the new cookbook.

AND I"M OUT!!

My New Year's Goals

My New Year's goal is to be more kind, patient, loving, & understanding. To take 15 minutes each day for myself to read the scriptures, to pray, or to learn more about being a righteous mother & wife. I want to always have an eternal perspective in mind (to remember what this life is all about), to always have love in my heart. I want my home to be a place of peace, where the spirit dwells. Where those who enter, but most importantly my children and husband, are uplifted and strengthened in who they are and that they feel my love and their Heavenly Father's love. I want to serve them more with a willing heart, to be more actively engaged in good things for them and myself. I am so grateful for my Savior and my Heavenly Father, from which all blessings come. I'm grateful to be a mother and a wife. I value this role and could not think of anything better for myself. I want to learn and expand my knowledge more in the things of the gospel. I have found no greater joy than by abiding and living the things that I have learned through church leaders, prophets, scriptures, and the Spirit. I want to be more steadfast in these things. I'm grateful for friends, for wonderful parents, and church leaders. From whom I have learned from and whose examples I would like to emulate. I have grown tremendously through them. Most importantly I am grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, who stands beside me and lifts me up. I am stronger through Him. I'm grateful for this new year and hope to be a little more and a little better by the end of it.

Hailey in Glasses

I am so far behind on posting, so I promise I will catch you up. But for now I just wanted to put up this picture of Hailey. She just got her glasses yesterday. She is now 6 1/2 months old. She has been doing great with them and it's amazing how much better she can see across the room. She studies everything around her now. It's great! Her eyes were still going cross like a newborns' does, so I decided to get them checked out a few months ago. She is far-sighted and has some other deal that makes her eyes cross. We are first attempting glasses to see if it will correct the problem. We will check back in two months to see how they are working. It's possible it will correct it and she won't need the glasses any more, so we will see. But for now...isn't she sooo cute!! I love it!
