Update on Hailey

Everything went great! We went into the hospital at 6:30 this morning to outpatient same day registration. I was surprised to see how packed it was that early. I now know why they tell you only 2 adults and no children are allowed with the patient. We then saw a nurse and dressed Hailey in her attire. She then moved us into another waiting room where the doctor came and talked with us about everything and to answer any last minute questions. The anesthesiologist then came and went over his procedure, we walked Hailey part way and then parted ways letting the anesthesiologist take her with him. We went to another waiting room for about 50 minutes or so when the doctor came in and told us it all went perfect. I was so relieved to know she went under ok and that all went well. We waited another 15 minutes when they called me back to be with her as she was waking up. She was quite fussy, wanting to rub her eyes, and at the same time hating the iv and other things connected to her ankle and foot. She was in and out of sleep and restless as I held her. She looked the same though..with her eyes closed, it looked like nothing had been done. They heal better without patches and bandages so she didn't have anything on her eyes. I had her calm and asleep when they moved us into another area to wait for her to completely wake up. They then called Ethan back to come sit with us. She was sleeping really well on my chest so I decided to try nursing her before she woke up and was restless again. She nursed great while still "sleeping". She then woke up and was very calm and content. It really surprised me how happy she was. We were out of there by about 10:30am.

We have been relaxing in our hotel room all afternoon. It's been nice. She has slept off and on and just played on the bed in between us. Overall she has been really content. Her eyes look great, really red and bloodshot on the inside, but they already look like they are straightening out if that's possible. It has been a nice afternoon, I'm hoping the night will continue in the same. Tomorrow morning we will take her to a follow up appointment and then we'll be on our way home. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful for how well it went and for the great hospital it was done in. They were great! We love you Hailey and are so glad you are doing well.
