Our Christmas break was great. Although we had snotty, pink eyed children, they were for the most part content. Christmas Eve we had dinner at my mom's with all the family. The next morning we opened all the goodness that Santa had brought and enjoyed the day home (because of sick kids) playing with them.
We delayed our trip to Utah a few days until everyone was better and then enjoyed family there.
First we went to Ikea and got the most brilliant organizers for the kids' bedrooms, yeah! The next day we went skiing with the kids on the bunny hill at Snowbasin and then to dinner that night for my birthday. We stayed in on New Year's Eve. One, we were worn out from all the previous fun mentioned, and two, it was 9 degrees or so that night in SLC and we didn't care to walk around downtown in that:0 Although we did miss being with Ethan's brothers/wives (next year guys!). Then we came home...It was a good time.
Now we are in the thick of winter. Trying to overcome the Vitamin D deprivation:) Only a couple more months right? Oh, where are you Hawaii? Our property is in a sort of valley, where all the water around flows directly through the middle of it. So with it snowing, melting, and freezing, we had an ice skating rink for a driveway. The kids loved it! Me not so much. It actually wasn't too bad until the last few days when our temps dropped below freezing. Now all the melted snow from ALL AROUND is flowing through our drive and it's a lake! Ethan dugg a trench through the middle of the drive to divert all the water through it, so the rest of the driveway would dry up. So we've gone from Hulls Ice Skating to Lake Hull and now to River Hull. You should see it, it's hilarious. Oh and did I mention that it takes 4-wheel drive to get in and out of here now! Ahh the joys of winter when you live on dirt roads;)
